Credit transfer

Transferring from another institution

  • Transfer credit is credit earned at other accredited colleges and universities. All courses are evaluated individually, based on the College's standards and the student's grades.
  • A student's knowledge, no matter how it was gained, can be considered as long as it is relevant and documented. Where credits duplicate, they transfer from one source only. Transfer credits appear on the transcript with the suffix 'TR'.
  • Regardless of credits transferred, students must complete a minimum of 60 ECTS for the Diploma and 120 ECTS for the Bachelor degree at Atlantis College.
  • A transcript is required; course descriptions, syllabi and textbooks may be requested. Validation may be required by oral or written examination. The Director of Academic Affairs evaluates in consultation with the Programme Coordinator.
  • Atlantis College accepts formal evaluations by World Education Services (WES) or other authorised evaluation services.
  • Transfers from other tertiary institutions in Cyprus or abroad take place before or during the first month of the programme. The Academic Committee decides and informs the student of credits allowed before transfer; for international students the College submits the student's details to the Ministry of Education for approval. Ministry of Education and Migration circulars on transfers of foreign students apply.
  • Transfer between programmes within the College: at the latest during the first month of classes, by form submitted to the registration office.
  • Credits are awarded to students who study abroad for one semester under Erasmus+; the study period is an integral part of the programme and receives full academic recognition as decided in the Learning Agreement.
